The following is an extract from an article published in the journal of the Production Managers Association
In the 25 years since Eddie Fegan first turned the lights on at Film & TV Services, his company has become a shining example of the fast, flexible, cost effective but always professional approach to Lighting Facilities work.
Whilst perhaps best known these days for Location Events, Film & TV are equally at home in Studio News situations or installing permanent studio lighting facilities.
The company's work in the field of Sports Events has included most of the highlights from the annual sporting calendar - Tennis from Wimbledon, Snooker from Bangkok, Boxing from Dublin and Golf from the European Tour have all featured over the past year.
However this is only part of the story, for on a more serious note Eddie and his company have also acquired something of a burgeoning political reputation. The G7 summit, President Clinton's visit to Ireland and the V.E. Day & V.J. Day anniversary events in London have all been covered. Little wonder therefore that Eddie is reputed to possess a Security Clearance on a par with the Prime Minister and considers Downing Street as his London address.
The real key to Film & TV's success lies in the dedicated team of lighting specialists, many having started with the company as apprentices and are now seasoned professionals. They are backed by an extensive array of "own" equipment including a range of mobile generators. This combination of committed people and "on tap" technical resources gives Film & TV an important edge in an industry which demands excellence of service.
No job is
too small or indeed too complicated - the Clinton Visit was arranged at
less than 3 days notice against a background of an already full workload.
This "can do" approach exemplified by Eddie permeates throughout the Film
& TV organisation and professionalism allied to customer satisfaction is
their overriding concern.
