Project design

Effective project design is at the heart of a reliable power and lighting solution.

FTVS works closely with production managers, technical directors and event organisers to develop practical systems tailored to the demands of each production, whether in a studio, on location, at an outside broadcast or across a large live event site.

Designing the power and lighting infrastructure

Our team plans how power will be generated, distributed and managed throughout the production.

We consider equipment capacity, voltage requirements, positioning, connections, redundancy and the practical relationship between different areas of the site.

The result is a coordinated design in which equipment can operate safely and efficiently from setup through to broadcast, performance or filming.

Planning for reliability and flexibility

Productions can change quickly, so the system must be able to respond without creating unnecessary disruption.

We identify potential points of failure and build suitable capacity, backup and contingency into the design. This helps minimise downtime, make efficient use of equipment and maintain a dependable supply throughout the project.

Making the system more efficient

Careful planning can reduce oversized equipment, unnecessary generator runtime and avoidable fuel use.

Where appropriate, we can incorporate grid connections, battery storage, hybrid systems and lower-emission generation while maintaining the reliability the production requires.
